Allspice may be known by other names such as the Jamaican pepper or the pimento.  It hails from Central America, the Carribean, and Mexico.  Ironically, it is said to be discovered by Christopher Columbus.  Your taste buds would tell you its flavor is much like a combination of cinnamon, cloves, and nutmeg.

Some Cautions…

Avoid this herb if you have gastric ulcers or ulcerative colitis.

My Final Thoughts…

With the coming of fall, its falling leaves and brisk winds, also comes all the wonderful fall spices. These would be cloves, cinnamon, nutmeg, and allspice. While I am not sure of any of them single-handedly; in a pumpkin pie, they are nice.  For the girl in our story, there may be many pumpkin pies in her future as she gets her strength back.

For the young mom that has picky eaters, this is ideal for helping them eat a little better.  Who says a pumpkin pie can’t give mom energy and little ones calories?  Okay, moving on…

We won’t forget those getting up in years that are always complaining of those aches and pains. Who knows what they are all from.  Let’s just alleviate them using this amazing herb. Remember, its the spice to your sugar!
