Her anxiety was getting the best of her.  Her health situation was becoming grave, and it was all she could think of.  What would happen to her?  What about her kids?  It just went on and on. The good news is cilantro benefits can have a calming effect.  Why not utilize them and protect your health at the same time?

Anxiety, if left untreated, can affect one’s life in more ways than one. Panic, fear, and uneasiness can take control.  There can be problems sleeping.  Sweaty hands and shortness of breath can complicate things further. Not to mention nausea and dizziness can add to the physical symptoms.  But let’s skip all that and see what cilantro has to offer.

While there are many herbs that we know exactly where they came from, cilantro is not one of them.  Somehow it got to Mexico, which may be why it is part of Mexican cuisine.  If you are wondering the difference between cilantro and coriander, be sure and read my post on coriander.

Fortunately, this herb isn’t new.  The Greeks used it as a perfume. The Romans used it to counteract the putrid smell of rotten meat during the Medieval time period. Today its as close as our fingertips.

  • Battles urinary tract infections
  • Promotes sleep
  • Calms queasy stomachs

My Final Thoughts…

Cilantro was not something we used growing up. My mother was not into spicy cooking, so maybe that’s why I am not either.  We can do Taco Bell, and skip the sauce entirely! So the last two weeks, my wonderful produce box that I get right at my door, has had cilantro. Last week, I gave to my friend.  This week, I decided we were going to eat it.

I love that it helps with anxiety.  Most people have it on varying levels.  What is sad is when it consumes every waking hour.  So let’s get cooking with cilantro.  After all, its important to protect your health!
